A Faster Start Menu

Posted by Sharing Is Caring | 2:06 AM | , , , ,

Hallu all my reader, today i wanna show you all on how to tweak the windows XP registry to make the START menu is faster than the default speed. The speed of the start menu can be adjusted only by using a simple tweak registry.

The default value is 400. Set it to 0 and the delay is gone, but it will be nearly impossible to move the mouse fast enough not to activate [All Programs] if you mouse over it in route to your final selection. It's easy to train yourself to move the pointer to the right after clicking Start to avoid activating All Programs. Pick a number that suits your style and make the change, then test it until you find a good compromise between speed and usability.

Click on READ MORE below to know the registry tweak....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

tip to use command promt easily....

Posted by Sharing Is Caring | 5:46 PM | , , ,

Hello my reader, today i want to share a tip on helping all of you in using the command prompt...as all of us know, not all of windows user is able to use the command prompt as the tech geek...soo, here i want to share a bit of trick that can help all of us in using the command prompt effectively..

ok,be ready to take your note k...

1. Drag and Drop
- Being able to open a command prompt from Windows Explorer right click context menu, to the current directory is a big time saver. But what about opening a command prompt to a file location?

Instead of hacking away at the registry to provide this functionality, the easier method is to use drag-and-drop.

After using Command Prompt Here to open the prompt to the current folder location, just right click and hold on a file, then drag and drop it on the command prompt window.
Unfortunately, drag and drop only works in XP and not Vista. Instead you can use Vista's copy file name and path as text feature as an alternative.

2. Open Windows Explorer Window From Command Prompt

-Now that you know how to open the command prompt from Windows Explorer, how about reversing the process. Like open Explorer window from the current command prompt directory.

Just type the following command at the prompt and press enter:

explorer .

NOTE: Make sure to include the dot (period) after the command.

To open Windows to the parent directory that of the current directory you are at (one folder above), just type the following command:

explorer . .

Or to open Explorer to a different directory:

explorer c:\windows\system32

3 - Change Directories The Easy Way
- Navigating around the file system from the prompt requires using the dir (directory) command to 'see' the contents of a directory. But if you are just moving forward through the current directory, there is an easier way to see folders using the keyboard.

To do this, use the Change Directory command by typing cd and pressing the space bar once, then continually press the Tab key to scroll through the list of folders.

Once you see the folder that you want to navigate into, stop and press enter.

Note: if you experience any problems on XP, see How To Enable Auto Complete in XP.

4 - Search For Text
- If you execute many commands, after a while the window can fill up with a lot text. To quickly locate text output from a command, you can easily search for it using the Find dialog bog.

Click on the icon in the title bar (of the command prompt window you are working in) and select Edit, then Find… (you can also right on the Title bar select Edit \ Find ).

In the Find dialog box, just enter the text you are looking for, click on Find Next, and the selected text will be found and highlighted.

5 - Change The Window Title
- Sometimes one command prompt window is not enough. You may have situations where multiple windows are needed to perform several tasks. At times this can lead to confusion as to which window is which.

To make it easier with identifying different command prompt sessions, you can name each window with different titles by using the Title command. All you need to do is enter the following at the prompt:

TITLE [string]

Where string Specifies the title for the command prompt window.

For example, to rename a window that is being used with the net stat command, enter the following command and press enter:

title NET STAT

11 Tips On Finding The Best IPod Download Sites..!!

Posted by wanjModernist | 6:11 PM | ,

You may have come across many websites that offer free iPod downloads. But beware as there have been stories of copyright infringement when the copyrighted music and other media files are distributed and shared.

As a layman, you do not know whether it is legal to download the iPod music, movie or TV show you are searching for. So, avoid such iPod download sites as you may be on the wrong side of the law when you download iPod media files from these sites.

On the other hand, more paid iPod downloads membership sites have been appearing recently. You now have better choices to download iPod music, movies and TV shows legally at much cheaper prices than iTune. However, as an iPod user in the midst of multiple choices, we are once again caught in a dilemma to decide which one is the best for us.

Here some tips..

1. Per iPod Download Vs One Time Fee

Does the site charge for per piece of iPod music, movie or TV series file you download? I find it expensive to download media files at iTune, do you? I mean $1.99 for a music video and $0.99 per song is crazy. Nowadays, for a low one-time lifetime fee, you can download as many songs and music videos as you wish. Make sure you compare the pricing.

2. iPod Music Downloads Variety

What variety and range of music files can you find? To me, it is important that they have genres ranging from popular pop to jazz.

3. Huge Media Library of iPod Music, Movies, TV Shows and Video Files

Does it provide a huge library of media files? Do they have a wide selection of movies, TV shows, music and videos? Do they frequently update their database with new iPod downloads?

4. Ease of Use of Member's Site Interface

Is the member interface easy and user-friendly? Ease of use is very important.

5. Free iPod Downloading and System-compatible Software Provided

Do they provide with free software to help you in downloading those movies, mp3s etc? Are they easy to use? Are these software compatible with PC or MAC or both? Can they be used to download iPod files to older generation iPods or only to the newer models?

6. Fast iPod File Downloading Speeds

How fast is the iPod downloading speed? How long does it take for the files to be transferred?

7. Safe Downloading Process of iPod Media Files?

Do they ensure the iPod downloads to our computers are safe? Is spyware removal included to ensure that nothing goes wrong while downloading the music and movies?

8. Testimonials And Excellent Track Record

Is the company getting complaints or positive testimonials? Read these at iPod forums. Hear their experiences in using these iPod downloads services.

9. Legality of iPod Downloads

Is it legal? These are proper sites which have the right to distribute the iPod media files so you can have a peace of mind that you are not breaking any copyright laws.

10. 24/7 Responsive and Expert Technical Support

Do they provide fast and responsive support? 24/7? Do they have the expertise to trouble-shoot when you encounter difficulties in the iPod downloads? Sad to say, some download sites display this feature as an advertising gimmick only and are unable to deliver the level of service.

11. Secured Payment Processing System and Measures to Safeguard Your Privacy

Is the payment processing secured? Will your personal details be divulged to anyone? Most of these sites have secured payment processing and they make it absolutely certain that your privacy is not compromised.

I hope that these tips will give you a good start in finding your choice iPod Downloads site. In my next article, you will be able to read a review of the top 3 downloads site based on the criterion I have described here.

As you may already know, you are not alone in choosing to refill your inkjet cartridges instead of buying expensive new ones. In fact most people today are choosing to refill their inkjet cartridges for the simple fact that it saves a pile of money.

There are even quite a few people who swear by inkjet printer refills and say they work perfect for them every time. Then there is the rest of us who are sometimes disappointed when using refills by having the bad experience of clogged nozzles, leaks, low life spans and less than satisfactory colour output.

You many be wondering why inkjet refills work so good for others and so poorly for some of us. The answer is simply the process the user follows when refilling their ink cartridges.

While printer refill kits provide quality materials and instructions, for some reason people tend to disregard the instructions and instead follow their own way, which is for the most part the wrong way. It is this lack of instruction following that generally causes the disappointing outcomes of an inkjet refill kit.

The most common mistake found in refilling inkjet cartridges is sealing off the vent holes in the cartridges. This creates a major problem as a lot of refillable cartridges require the movement of air in order to dispense the ink.

In simpler terms, when the ink goes out, air needs to come in to fill the empty space. So if the cartridge's vent are sealed it will lead to a build up in air pressure which then causes ink starvation and eventually a burnt up print head.

The other common mistake is pushing the needle all the way into the empty cartridge. By doing this it creates air pressure which blocks the air from going out. By blocking the air from going out you also end up blocking the ink from coming in, and instead the ink will come out of any holes it can find where there is no resistance.

While these are the two most common mistakes, people from time to time think waiting until the ink in the cartridge is completely used up before refilling the inkjet cartridge is a way to get the most out of their ink. But by doing this it can interfere with cleaning cycle of the print heads.

Every time you turn your printer on or off it performs one of these cleaning cycles and if a cartridge is left inactive for a long period of time the ink can gel and cause the cartridge to burn up the next time it goes through a cleaning cycle.

The last of the common mistakes made when refilling an inkjet cartridge is soaking the cartridge in too much water. While this can help to reduce the viscosity of the ink it will also affect the colour of the when you start printing again.

With this said, the next time you end up with disappointing results after using an inkjet cartridge refilling kit think back and see if you followed the instruction manual to a tee. Believe it or not, most of the time an inkjet cartridge refill kit does not work it is due to human error and not product flaws.

Huntelaar Favours Old Trafford Move...!!

Posted by wanjModernist | 2:58 AM |

Ajax forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has revealed his desire to follow in the footsteps of compatriot Ruud Van Nistelrooy and star for Manchester United.

Huntelaar is one of the most sought-after commodities in this transfer window, with Real Madrid also competing for his signature.

The striker’s Ajax departure now looks imminent after the Amsterdam club smashed the Dutch transfer record with the signing of Miralem Sulejmani from Heerenveen.

Ajax have slapped a £20 million price tag on Huntelaar’s head, which could deter potential suitors. However, the player is adamant that a move to Old Trafford would be his preference.

Huntelaar has an outstanding scoring record for Ajax, with 70 goals in just over 80 league appearances for the club. He has also netted eight strikes in 13 international outings.

He now hopes to emulate his Oranje team-mate Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who spent five fruitful seasons at Manchester United.

He told the Dutch media: "I love clubs with great history like Ajax. I also love United. It`s a club that makes me dream, especially as Ruud van Nistelrooy played there and did great things with them.

“I know certain English clubs are following me, like Manchester United, who are very interested in me."

How to make your PC is secure...

Posted by Sharing Is Caring | 12:00 PM | , , ,

Ok...hello all my reader, today i will share with all of you on how to make your PC or laptop more secure before taking it to online world. Here is a some thing that u should do to before connecting your PC or laptop to the internet.

1. Make sure that firewall is on.
Windows comes with a built-in firewall to protect you from intruders. So make sure you use it.

In Windows XP with Service Pack 2, click Start, then Run. Type in "firewall.cpl" without the quotes and hit Ok.
You can turn on the built-in Windows firewall from there.

In Windows Vista, click Start, then Control Panel, then double-click Windows Firewall. The firewall panel will pop up and you can check if it is on.

2. Install security software
Many computer manufacturers offer bundled deals with their systems — you can get a discount on anti-virus and firewall software if you buy it together with your computer.

At the very minimum, your computer should have anti-virus, fire-wall and malware protection in-stalled before it has to deal with the Internet.

3. Make sure that browser is configured correctly.
If you opt to use Internet Explorer, which comes with Windows, make sure its security options are configured to keep you safe.

Click Tools and select Internet Options. Then, set your browser to remember less of your browsing history, protecting your privacy.

You should also turn off the feature to save your Web passwords — always key in your password your-self. The same rules apply if you choose to use an alternative browser, such as Mozilla Firefox (www.firefox.com) or Opera (www.opera.com).

Hello my reader, today i want to share with all of you on how to take a good(maybe a very-very good) care of your PSP.ALl of us know that PSP is not a cheap device, thus,u have to take a good care of it.So,here i will share a tip for keeping your PSP in a excellent working condition.

1. Keep all part free of dust.Just remember that dust can "kill" your PSP.

2. Buy a PSP case.In this case, most of PSP owner buy PSP pouch but not the PSP case.PSP pouch can prevent your PSP from scratching but PSP case can save your PSP from shock(accidentaly drop).

3. When playing a UMD game, NEVER, under any circumstances attempt to remove the UMD when the game is in session! This will actually corrupt the data on the UMD, and lead to the disk being no longer useable. If you want the remove it, first go to the home page and then remove the disk. This saves the UMD and even parts of the PSP.

4. Make sure to buy memory sticks from reputable online shops or even retail shops, as fake cards are a waste of money and you risk jeopardizing your precious game saves and music!!!(remember, fake product is cheap, but NOT SAFE)...

5. Always check the status of your PSP’s battery. You may not know this, but as time goes on battery capacity actually decreases. If you don’t replace the battery at all, it will come to a point where it will only run on the charger plugged into an outlet. So if you notice that battery life is getting shorter, get a new one.

Putting music on PSP(step by step).......

Posted by Sharing Is Caring | 10:53 PM | , ,

I'm going to share with you how do I put music on my PSP and making it my universal digital walkman. It is a very simple procedure to put any of your favorite music into PSP. Before we begin discussing how to download or transfer music on to the PSP, we must understand that PSP do not accept all forms or formats of music file.Early version of PSP firmware can only playback mp3 music format and it does not support playback of WMA and WMV audio files, making it less appreciable. However much later, firmware of PSP is able to playback WMA and WMV audio files. To do that on any early version, the PSP firmware needs to be upgraded to playback WMA and WMV audio files directly from PSP. And even if your PSP are able to playback WMA and WMV audio files I would not recommend because of its file size compare to mp3 format.

Generally mp3 music or audio file format takes up far less storage space compare to any audio or music file format. To convert any audio file format is relatively a simple task as lots of mp3 file format converter programs are already available from the internet. You can find huge list of mp3 format converter from the search engine and most of them are capable of converting any music or audio file format to mp3. The procedure provided by most mp3 file format converter program are most dummy proofed. Hardly anyone will find any difficulties in using these programs.

Here is the step….
1. you first need to connect your PSP to your PC by using the USB cable

2. Next, you press "Home" button and follow by scroll to "Setting" using the left-right buttons. And finally you search for "USB Connection" and press the "X" button to enter your selection.

3. On your PC, it will begin to show a removable drive has been detected and mounted on "My Computer" window.

4. Click and open the new removable drive and a folder named "PSP" will appear within the drive. Open the "PSP" folder and you should find "Music" folder from within it. If the "Music" folder does not exist, manually create it yourself.

5. Now you can begin to put your favorite music on PSP console. Simply drag and drop if you like or copy & paste your favorite music and store in this folder of the memory stick.

6. Once you are finished with transferring or putting your music file onto PSP, press the "O" button on your Sony PSP console to exit your PSP from the USB connection.

7. Unplug your Sony PSP from the USB connection and you can begin playback your mp3 music files.

Last but not least, enjoy ur music on your PSP k....C ya...

Protect Your PC now...!!!(Useful)

Posted by wanjModernist | 3:47 PM | ,

The Internet is a tool for people to communicate, learn, and shop. Unfortunately, the Internet can also be used to commit criminal activities. Although, there is no fool-proof method to prevent online crime, our recommended solutions and Internet safety tips can help secure and protect your privacy and your computer data.

Step One: Use Antivirus Software
Viruses can get into your computer at home or at work and cause extensive damage to your computer. Viruses can even help a criminal steal your identity and put your personal information to use for illegal purposes.

We recommend installing an antivirus program, keeping it up-to-date and scanning your system on a regular basis.

Step Two: Install a Firewall
In addition to your antivirus software, you can use a firewall to guard your computer against hackers and unwanted inbound and outbound Internet traffic. One of the easiest ways a virus can enter your system is through a broadband connection.

With a broadband connection, your computer is open to the Internet whenever it is turned on. We recommend installing a firewall to safeguard your financial documents, personal information, photos and online communications.

Step Three: Update Your Operating System
Your Microsoft® Windows® operating system can also protect you from viruses, hackers and other online threats. You can receive automatic updates from Microsoft to protect your computer and keep your operating system current at the same time.

To update your Microsoft operating system and other applications, visit the Microsoft Windows Update site. The program will locate security gaps and automatically download and install the necessary patches for you.

In addition, we recommend that you activate Microsoft Windows Automatic Update for the latest security patches to avoid potential threats in the future.

Step Four: Install and Use Antispyware Software
Spyware programs can get into your system from a free web download, by visiting a Web site or clicking on an online advertisement. The spyware program then secretly gathers information about your computing habits and sends the information to the company that created the program. Once the company has your information, the spyware can affect your computer by:

* Changing your homepage to a particular Web site
* Producing unwanted pop-up ads—even when your browser is not running
* Causing your browser or system applications to close or crash
* Stopping your ability to connect to the Internet
* Slowing down your computer at start-up or reducing the performance of your system

If you are experiencing one or more of these symptoms, your system may be infected with spyware.

The best way to remove spyware is to purchase and install an antispyware program. We recommend purchasing an updated product with built-in antispyware capabilities. You may also want to adjust your browser security settings to medium or higher and only download software from trusted sources.

Step Five: Practice Internet Safety

The Internet has made it easy for us to perform activities online such as shopping, banking and communicating with others. At the same time, transmitting information online can also put us at risk for identity theft and fraud. To ensure that the information you provide is not used maliciously, it is important to take some basic precautions.

We recommend that you invest time to learn what you can do to protect you, your family and your data from cyber threats. We have listed suggested topics from Microsoft's Web site to help you enjoy online activities while still practicing internet safety:

Security at Home—Protect Your Personal Information—Watch a video and read about protecting your personal information to avoid identity theft and other kinds of fraud while surfing the Internet.

Help Protect Yourself While Enjoying Online Activities—Learn how to protect yourself while still enjoying everything the Internet has to offer.

E-Mail and Spam—How to Reduce the Risks of Threats—Watch a video and learn how to reduce the risks of e-mail threats including spam, viruses, identity-theft schemes and hoaxes.

Protect Your Children's Privacy and Safety—Safety tips, articles and a video to help keep your children protected while they surf the Internet.

Step Six: Backup Your Important Files

Have you ever wondered what you would do if a virus deleted files on your system? What if your hard drive failed or a power surge during a lightning storm destroyed your hard drive? If you start thinking about what you would do after a problem occurs, it's probably too late. Your Internet favorites and bookmarks will be gone, e-mail addresses, family history and pictures, your thesis and your final report? All lost.

Is there anything more important on your system than the information you invested time in creating? So, why risk losing it?

We recommend you add additional storage media and a software backup application to your system. Then you can automatically backup and save your data as part of your regular computer maintenance routine. Taking this preventative measure can reduce your stress level when your important information is suddenly gone. We can assist you to select the best options to fit your time, budget and experience level.

No limits on success...!!

Posted by wanjModernist | 3:47 PM | , ,

Turkey coach Fatih Terim claimed there was "no limit to success" for his side after they defeated Croatia on penalties to earn a semi-final meeting with Germany. Terim's men looked to be on their way out when Ivan Klasnić struck in the penultimate minute of extra time, but Semih Şentürk restored parity with the last kick of the game and Turkey then triumphed in the shoot-out. Croatia coach Slaven Bilić said Turkey had the "X factor" after watching them hit back late on for the third successive match.

He says.....

I would like to congratulate the Croatia players and coach. They played well but that's football. You should never give up until the final whistle, that's what makes football interesting. I congratulate my players, too. Both sides could have won. I think we should be proud and I still haven't been able to do any damage assessment. Emre Aşık, Tuncay Şanlı and Arda Turan are all suspended [for Germany] because they were booked here, and we have injured players. We have worked very hard over the last two years and deserve to be in this semi-final. If Croatia had won, I would have said they deserved it too, but I'm delighted we did it. I tell my players never to give up. I set them goals and tell them not to be afraid of losing. I think this team could do even better. If only we could have the injured players back, but even without them, we are special. There is something special about this team.

Get a Good Night's Sleep (Treat Insomnia)....

Posted by wanjModernist | 9:36 PM |

Sleeping is a problem for many people in the world. The problems with sleep can range from trouble falling asleep, trouble staying asleep, or having interrupted sleep.

Trouble falling asleep is generally known as insomnia. This can last only a few days, or may develop into a chronic long-term problem.

The biggest first step in getting a good night's sleep and treating insomnia is to understand what good sleep hygiene or sleep habits are. Most people who are having trouble sleeping tend to have poor sleep habits.

Medications may sometimes be used to help people fall asleep (treat insomnia) -- but these can be addicting and may have other side effects.

Keys to Good Sleep

- Keep consistent bedtimes and awaking times
- If you have trouble sleeping, don't lie in bed thinking about it. Get up, read, watch TV until you are tired.
- Don't take naps.
- Don't stare at the clock. It only increases your anxiety. Move the clock away from your vision.
- Dont drink caffeine in the evenings or even later afternoons.

These simple steps will help you improve your sleeping success rates.

If you have long term sleeping troubles, it is best to get evaluated by your physician.

How to Make Money with your Website....!!!

Posted by wanjModernist | 9:27 PM | ,

3 types of ways to generate income from your website...

Sales

Same as a brick-and-morter store, you have a product and you sell it -- but online. Amazon.com falls into this category, along with thousands of other merchants. Like a traditional business, you usually stock and sell products.

Sales, however, isn't necessarily limited to physical items. You can also create/sell software or services. Regardless of the product, your income comes from individuals who give you money directly.

Remember this model - as, in the end, this model is the basis of all income on the Internet and the real world.

Banner Advertising

This is the traditional approach to advertising on the internet. Banner ads are those 468x60 pixel graphics on the top of many of the websites you visit. Banner ads are paid for by other websites who want people to visit their website.

You can be paid based on how many times a Banner is displayed (per impression), or when a visitor clicks on it (per click).

Affiliate Programs

Affiliate programs are a relatively new method of advertising on the internet. Because of the nature of the Internet, with some extra effort, companies can track where visitors are coming from and also what they do/buy on their site.

The natural extension of this is for companies to "hire" other websites (the affiliates) to send them visitors... but instead of paying them a flat rate (as in Banner Ads) - companies pay you based on what that visitor does once they reach the company site.

Payment can involve a percentage of sales, or a flat rate for a specific action -- such as joining a mailing list, or completing a form.

As a result, the more your visitors do, the more you are rewarded. Since a smaller percentage of your visitors will buy or signup for services, rewards for Affiliate programs tend to be higher.

7 Tips to Avoid Spam (Junk Email)...very useful

Posted by Sharing Is Caring | 5:01 PM | , , ,

Spam is named after an old Monty Python skit which took place in a diner where everything on the menu had spam in it. A chorus keeps chanting a song about spam, drowning out conversations. Years later, this reminded someone of how email in your inbox can get lost in all of the junk mail, so they called it spam and the name stuck.

It can be hard to avoid getting your email address on somebody’s list. It’s not uncommon for many people to receive 50 to 100 pieces of spam in a single day – I know some people who get over 300 a day! And the problem is growing worse.

Fortunately there are ways for people to reduce the amount of spam they get. Here are a few tips:

* Never try to unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Those emails may include a link or a reply address to unsubscribe, but 95% either simply don’t work, or you're just telling the spammers that they have a live one.

* Never order anything advertised in spam, visit the website, or in any way respond to the ad. Spammers send out millions of emails at a time, and it costs them almost nothing. Every order or click through to their website just encourages the spammers to send more and more.

* Try to avoid entering your email address on websites as much as possible, and if you do, consider getting a second email account with Yahoo mail or a similar service. That way, you can enter that address instead of your main email. Most websites offering contests, joke lists, free greeting cards, etc. harvest and sell your email address.

* Never sign an online guestbook. As an experiment I recently created a new email address and entered it on about five guestbooks I found with a Google search. Within 24 hours I was getting spam, and it grew to dozens a day within a week.

* Just opening an unsolicited ad while connected to the internet can alert spammers that they have a live address, so if your email application has a “work offline” option, often found in the file menu, select it before opening suspect emails, or disconnect from the internet completely.

If you use a web-based email service like Yahoo Mail, check your mail options for a setting to turn off graphics in emails, or to display mail in plain text only. This helps keep the spammers from knowing you've opened the message.

* Avoid forwarding emails to large numbers of people. Not everyone realizes that when you forward a message, the email addresses of everyone who receives the message is visible to every person who reads it. If any of the recipients is a spammer, or if one of a friend's computer is infected by certain viruses, they can harvest all of those addresses, including yours.

If you do send an email to multiple people, you can avoid revealing email addresses by entering addresses in the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) area instead of To or CC — this will hide the list of addresses from everyone else.

If you're sending a message from somebody on to others, you should copy and paste just the message into a new email window rather than hitting the forward button — this trims the message down and protects the privacy of others.

* To deal with the spam you already receive, most email programs allow you to create “filters” or “rules” that move incoming email into a specified folder or even right into the trash.

After that, if you follow the tips above, you'll have a good chance of keeping it under control.

Outstanding Italy Buried France 2-0

Posted by Sharing Is Caring | 7:06 AM | , ,

Italy beat 10-man France at Zurich's sold-out Letzigrund stadium to advance to the quarter-finals of Euro 2008 thanks to Holland's win over Romania. Abidal was shown a straight red card, leaving the French with a mountain to climb following the earlier loss of Franck Ribery to injury.

Andrea Pirlo put the world champions in front in the 25th minute when converting from the penalty spot after Eric Abidal had brought down Luca Toni inside the area. News that the Netherlands had opened the scoring against Romania prompted an almighty roar from the Azzurri faithful and the celebrating continued when De Rossi scored on 62 minutes. The AS Roma midfielder's 30-metre free-kick took a cruel deflection off Henry, wrong-footing Coupet and effectively ending the French challenge. Although Benzema subsequently saw his swerving shot brilliantly tipped wide by Buffon in the 74th minute, there was no way back for France, who finished with just one point after losing back-to-back matches for the first time in 15 years.

Firefox 3 Download Day

Posted by Sharing Is Caring | 6:29 AM | , ,

Mozilla Firefox has officially launches their latest product which is Firefox 3 yesterday(17 June 2008).To get more media attention and (more importance) have fun, they already asking everyone to download the firefox 3 together in an effort to set the most software download in 24hours!!
Download Day - English

There's already a large number of pledges and it should be interesting to see how many of those are fulfilled.

This release kicks off a browser skirmish…

Firefox 3 will introduce a number of new security features that look very promising.

For example: sites using Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificates will be very noticeable to end users from the Navigation Toolbar.

Firefox 3, PayPal EV SSL

There's also antivirus integration for executable file downloads and malware protection. Malware protection warns users when they attempt to visit bad sites known to be hosting malware. The anti-phishing site features have also been enhanced.

On the other side of the battle field is Microsoft's beta of Internet Explorer 8. They are working on similar security features.

Then of course there's Opera, which some of us in the lab use. Opera 9.5 is now available and it too has new security options.

There's even Apple's Safari available for Windows.

All of this is good news for end users. Many of the malware samples and scams that we currently come across are targeting browser applications. So enhancing browser security and an increase in competitiveness is a good thing.

I already downloading Firefox 3 today, and I hope that you will join me in setting a world record!

Posted by Sharing Is Caring | 9:43 AM

MySpace is great because of the huge amount of freedom you have to change your MySpace profile. Using the profile tools and methods below you can trick out your profile to make it interesting and keep people coming back.

Some of the cool features you are able to put on your MySpace profile are games, cursors, layouts, clocks, surveys, and graphics. It's easy to get carried away and really go wild.

Here's a quick rundown of some of the different MySpace codes available and what they do:

Games: You can easily brighten things up by adding games to your profile. Practically anything you can think of from Pacman, Golf, Simon Says, Mario Brothers, Asteroids, Frogger and many more can be easily pasted on to your MySpace profile. These can be changed whenever you like and are a great way to keep people coming back to check you out.

Cursors: I'm sure you've seen these around, they're everywhere. The sky's the limit when it comes to cursors Anything you can think of is available, from animal cursors, flashing words, mermaids and unicorns, you get the idea. This is probably one of the most popular MySpace tools and can start a whole collection and change them whenever you like to spice things up.

Layouts: Also known as skins, layouts make up the basic theme of your profile. There are a wide variety of themes available and it might take a bit of searching to find the one that is best for you. Just remember to select a layout that suits your uniqueness and is pleasing to look at. If your goal is to make peoples eyeballs bleed, there are themes that can do that too.

Clocks: There are many different clock styles to choose from. You can pick from clocks that have a modern design, classic style, and roman numerals, digital and with or without the date. If you want you can even find layouts with matching themes. When installing a clock on your page be careful that your clock does not get in the way of your text.

Surveys: Adding fun surveys and quizzes to your site can make your profile a little more interesting. MySpaceReviews.com has many interactive surveys currently in development. Make sure to check back here so you can share some fun surveys with your friends.

Graphics: Glitter graphics, celebrity pictures, music lyrics and cool icons are just a few of what's possible. Check out the links below to get some really great graphics for your site.

Navigational Tools/Codes: These are html codes you can add to your site to change it's appearance. You can change how your text is displayed, change the color scheme, and manipulate images or change border codes and styles.

You can easily spend hours pimping out your MySpace profile. Just be careful that your new graphics don't obscure your postings, and remember that your profile is an extension of you.

Save your money..!!!now!!!

Posted by wanjModernist | 3:08 PM | ,

People with a modest income sometimes save more than others who earn considerably more. Paying down debt and building savings need not be a dream. The trick is learning to use what you have wisely. People neglect saving because they don't think they have much to put away. Putting away RM10 a month or saving your change every Friday can add up. Skipping one RM1 trip to the vending machine every week can save RM52. Doing it every day, five days a week, 52 weeks a year will yield a savings of RM260.

Even people who say they can't save money usually can save something.
Just try these tips....

1) Identify key expenses
Such as a house payment or rent, car payment, insurance, food, medical bills, etc., and pay those bills first.

2) Think about short- and long-term goals.
Ask yourself, will you need a new refrigerator this year? New tires for your car come spring? Or, do you want to plan a weekend holiday or vacation?

3) Identifying needs and goals
Usually can help people begin to separate needs from wants, which is key to successful money management. Before you buy, ask yourself: Which is more important? An extra sweater or new ties that will provide a safe ride.

4) Stop shopping
For recreation or if feeling lonely or bored. Resolve to shop only when you have a specific need.

5) Leave credit cards
Leave your credit card at home and carry a small amount of cash.People who shop with a credit card can be tempted to spend more.

6) Pay down balances
By paying as much as you can on the card with the highest interest, while also meeting minimum payment requirements on other cards to avoid extra fees.

7) Choose direct deposit.
You’ll save time and funds usually are available more quickly.

8) Make saving a habit.
Check to see if your employer offers an automatic payroll deduction to a savings account. If you don't see it, you won't be likely to spend it.

9) Set aside money for an emergency fund.
Sooner or later, everyone is likely to experience unexpected medical bills, a plumbing problem, a car repair or job loss. To meet such expenses, saving the equivalent of six month's salary is recommended. That may seem an unattainable goal. Start now to set aside funds to meet unexpected expenses, Earmarking tax refunds can jumpstart an emergency fund.

10) Make a birthday and holiday gift list and add in the extras
Such as a nephew's wedding out of state that also will involve travel expenses. Add up estimated costs, divide by 12 and budget for gift and travel expenses monthly. To reduce gift-giving expenses, take advantage of sales and shop for gifts throughout the year.

Russia end holders' defence early..!!

Posted by wanjModernist | 2:55 PM | , ,

June 14th 2:30pm US/Eastern Time (8:30pm Central European Time)

Stadion Wals-Siezenheim, Salzburg - Group D

Result: Greece 0 - Russia 1

Russia's young stars had been urged to "learn fast" by their coach Guus Hiddink and they came of age in Salzburg as Konstantin Zyryanov's solitary goal earned them a 1-0 win against Greece, thus ending Otto Rehhagel's team's reign as kings of Europe. After both sides had lost their opening matches in UEFA EURO 2008™ Group D, the stakes were high at the Stadion Wals-Siezenheim, but Russia emerged victorious and knocked defending champions Greece out of the tournament.

The only goal will haunt Greece goalkeeper Antonis Nikopolidis long into the night as he inexplicably chased a cross by Diniyar Bilyaletdinov that had already cleared his posts by five or six metres all the way to the touchline, and he was made to pay the full price for his 33rd-minute excursion. The Olympiacos CFP keeper was beaten to the ball by Russia captain Sergei Semak, who hooked it back over his head and Zyryanov was on hand to guide it ever so simply into an unguarded net.

Villa strike takes Spain through..!!

June 14th 11:50am US/Eastern Time (5:50pm Central European Time)

Tivoli-Neu Stadion, Innsbruck - Group D

Result: Sweden 1 - Spain 2

David Villa struck two minutes into stoppage time as Spain defeated a stubborn Sweden 2-1 at the Stadion Tivoli Neu in Innsbruck to guarantee their presence in the UEFA EURO 2008™ quarter-finals as Group D winners.

Spain coach Luis Aragonés surprised no one by selecting the same XI that had started the Russia game, but there were only hints of the devastating fluidity of that 4-1 win as Sweden hustled and harried effectively. Ibrahimović could even have given Lars Lagerbäck's side the lead inside the opening minute only for the FC Internazionale Milano striker's normally assured touch to escape him when well placed inside the box.

Dominant Dutch progress in style..!!

June 13th 2:30pm US/Eastern Time (8:30pm Central European Time)

Stade de Suisse Wankdorf, Berne- Group C

Result: Netherlands 4 - France 1

The Netherlands secured their place in the UEFA EURO 2008™ quarter-finals with a game to spare after producing another devastating display against France in Berne, with Dirk Kuyt, Robin van Persie, Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder all scoring in a memorable win.

Twenty years after his goals led the Netherlands to the European title, Marco van Basten's 2008 crop underlined their case as serious contenders by building on their defeat of Italy to tie up first place in Group C. There may have been less of the flamboyance they had shown in beating the Azzurri – the Dutch riding their luck at times after Kuyt's early breakthrough – but the speed of their counterattacking play was again in rich evidence, never more so than in the second goal scored by Van Persie after a lightning surge by Robben.

Even when Thierry Henry halved the deficit, Robben immediately restored the two-goal cushion to leave France, punished further by Sneijder, joint-bottom of the section with a solitary point – and with everything to do against Italy on Tuesday, when the Netherlands play second-placed Romania.

June 13th 11:50am US/Eastern Time (5:50pm Central European Time)

Letzigrund Stadion, Zurich- Group C

Result: Italy 1 - Romania 1

Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon superbly saved Adrian Mutu's penalty with nine minutes remaining to keep the world champions' UEFA EURO 2008™ hopes alive as the Azzurri and Romania battled out a breathless draw in Zurich.

Buffon dived to his left to block the ACF Fiorentina striker's stinging drive with his arm and foot after Christian Panucci had held back Daniel Niculae in the area. Defeat would have left Italian ambitions on a knife-edge but in a free-flowing match they delivered a perfect response to Mutu's 55th-minute opener as Panucci levelled a minute later. It salvaged a crucial point, which kept Italy in Group C contention before their reprise of the FIFA World Cup final against France on Thursday when Romania play the Netherlands.

June 12th 2:30pm US/Eastern Time (8:30pm Central European Time)

St. Jakob-Park, Basel- Group B

Result: Austria 1 - Poland 1

Ivica Vastic's last-gasp penalty kept Austria in contention to reach the UEFA EURO 2008™ quarter-finals, salvaging a draw against a Poland side who had looked set to take three points thanks to Roger Guerreiro's first-half goal and some inspired goalkeeping from Artur Boruc.

Boruc made four crucial interventions to frustrate a vibrant Austria before Roger was in the right place to tap in on the half-hour and give Poland the lead. Austria were staring a second successive 1-0 defeat in the face but, three minutes into added time, Marcin Wasilewski pulled Sebastian Prödl's shirt and substitute Vastic became the oldest player to score in a UEFA European Championship, finally beating Boruc from the spot. These teams now have one point apiece, two fewer than Germany who are Austria's final opponents on Monday, when Group B winners Croatia are the opposition for Poland.

June 12th 11:50am US/Eastern Time (5:50pm Central European Time)

St. Jakob-Park, Basel- Group B

Result: Croatia 2 - Germany 1

Croatia sealed their place in the quarter-finals of UEFA EURO 2008™ as goals from Darijo Srna and Ivica Olić earned a famous win against Germany that took Slaven Bilić's side three points clear at the top of Group B.

With both teams having won their first game on Sunday each knew victory in Klagenfurt would all but secure a ticket to the last eight, and it was Croatia who struck first midway through the first half thanks to the determination of Srna. The points looked safe when Olić tapped in just past the hour, yet Lukas Podolski set up a tense finale with his third goal of the tournament eleven minutes from time.

Croatia, whose only previous success against the Mannschaft had come in the quarter-finals of the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
