12 Tips to Help You Quit Smoking Successfully...!!

Posted by wanjModernist | 3:55 PM | , ,

Be a Sponge

We all know that smoking is bad for us, but if you're like most smokers, you avoid looking at the destruction smoking causes whenever possible. Take the blinders off and read everything you can get your hands on about smoking. It will help you start to make the mental shift necessary to quit smoking.

Use a Quit Journal

Journaling is a useful tool for anyone trying to quit smoking. Start yours with you and listening for quitting. Include everything from big to small, and leave room to add to it. Think about the pros and cons of smoking and make your list as detailed as possible.

Find a Shoulder to Lean On

Having others who are interested in your success is very important. The Smoking Forums here at About.com is a thriving, active group of people who can give you the help and encouragement you need. Sign in as a guest to browse and read posts from other quitters, or register(free) to post messages of your own.

Eat Smart

Smoking cessation throws our bodies into shock initially. If you take care to give your body the fuel it needs to run properly, you'll find that you're better able to cope with the discomforts of nicotine withdrawal. Have the right foods within easy reach and you'll minimize weight gain due to quitting.

Get Your Beauty Sleep

When you're tired, cravings to smoke will seem stronger while you feel less able to manage them. Fit a full 8 hours of sleep in every night, and a nap here and there if you need it. If you have problems with sleeping when you first quit smoking, try taking a long walk a couple of hours before bed.

Drink Water

Water will help to flush residual toxins out of your system, and beat back cravings to smoke. When you're well-hydrated, you'll feel better in general, which is a plus when you're going through nicotine withdrawal.

Get Moving

If you already have a daily exercises regimen, good for you! If not, start now. Choose something you enjoy doing, and you'll be more likely to stick with it. Aim for a half hour of exercise every day.Walking is a great way to move and it's a quick fix for the urge to smoke. Get out for a 15 minute walk around the block and you'll come back refreshed and relaxed.

Renew Resolve Daily

Your determination to quit smoking is built one day at a time. Every smoke free day makes you stronger, and when you consciously take time to reflect and rejoice in the value of what you're doing, you're working to fortify your will to make this the quit that lasts you a lifetime.

Adopt an Attitude of Gratitude!

Think about theblessing in your life. We all have them. Be thankful for the freedom you're creating for yourself today. Remember that you've wanted to quit smoking for a long time and you're finally doing something about it. List out the benefict you see in your health and overall being due to quitting tobacco. It has been said that gratitude unlocks the fullness of life, and I believe that! Make gratitude a daily conscious part of your life.

Accept and Let It Go

Relax into your quit and embrace cravings to smoke as they come. Don't fight - lean into urges and ride them out. Most cravings last 3 to 5 minutes Think of them as signs that your body is healing - that is just what they are.

Don't Fall for Junkie Thinking

Quitting tobacco is a gift, not a sacrifice. Don't sabatoge yourself by feeling sorry that you can't smoke. You are choosing not to smoke because you want to be free of this killer of an addiction. Keep your perspective!

Be Patient

Just as Rome wasn't built in a day, people don't quit smoking in a day either. Most of us had 20 years or more of smoking under our belts before we quit. Give yourself the gift of time and patience. Work to undo old patterns and replace them with newer, healthier choices. Each day you complete smoke free brings you closer to lasting freedom.

Make this the year you quit smoking for good!!!

Terim praises 'outstanding' Arda..!!!

June 11th 2:30pm US/Eastern Time (8:30pm Central European Time)

St. Jakob-Park, Basel- Group A

Result: Switzerland 1 - Turkey 2

It was left to coach Fatih Terim to pay tribute to attacking midfielder Arda Turan after the hero of Turkey's win over Switzerland missed the Carlsberg Match of the Match award ceremony because of a doping control.

Terim hailed a player he called potentially one of Europe's "most outstanding" after the left-winger decided an enthralling Group A game against Switzerland with a deflected last-gasp goal. "He is a very important player, very talented," said the coach. "He needs to improve his stamina during a game, but if he does he will be one of the most outstanding players in Europe."

Arda Turan's deflected goal deep in injury time gave Turkey a win that revived their EURO 2008™ hopes – but ended those of co-hosts Switzerland.

June 11th 11:50am US/Eastern Time (5:50pm Central European Time)

Stade de Genève, Geneva- Group A

Result: Czech Republic 1 - Portugal 3

After the Netherlands and Spain had raised the bar with emphatic wins against Italy and Russia respectively, this was Portugal's opportunity to lay down a marker of their own at EURO 2008™

Deco hopes the individual quality in Portugal's squad will leave them in a strong position to successfully negotiate the knockout phase of EURO 2008™.

Cristiano Ronaldo said Portugal had a "good chance" of winning UEFA EURO 2008™ after his Carlsberg Man of Match award-winning performance put them on the verge of a place in the quarter-finals – a step subsequently confirmed by Turkey's victory over Switzerland.

'Very happy'
Ronaldo played a part in all three Portugal goals, combining with Nuno Gomes and Deco for the first on eight minutes, striking the second with 63 minutes played, then teeing up substitute Ricardo Quaresma for the third in added time. "It's a very good feeling," he said. "We have almost reached our aim, which was to get out of this phase and reach the next. I was very happy to help my team-mates win. We played really well even though the Czech Republic played very well in the first half and we found it difficult to penetrate their defence. We played as a team and know how to sacrifice everything for the team. We have a good chance [to win the competition] but we must respect our opponents who want to win as much as we do."

Tips on how to get PSP themes(very useful)......

Posted by Sharing Is Caring | 3:06 AM | , , ,

You would probably like to download a free PSP theme. Virtually all PSP users do. The PSP has become an incredibly well known, and well loved, machine, and part of that is the flexibility it affords its users. Ipod socks are totally superfluous when you have the freedom to choose the exact way your PSP looks and behaves!

Download A Free PSP Theme Tip 1-Don't use the main Sony site!
A lot of people never bother to look beyond the main Sony Playstation website when they are looking for themes for their PSP. It is virtually impossible to find a unique PSP Theme if you are downloading it from the same place as everybody else. Although there is no shortage of themes to choose from on the main site, there are a lot of people choosing them. Look somewhere else!

Download A Free PSP Theme Tip 2- Do an internet search
A lot of people will use the main search engine to find out how to download a free PSP theme, but use a bit of clever thinking, and you can get what you want. Instead of doing a direct search engine search for themes, look for PSP communities on the internet? Try to see if you can find some forums or newsgroups. This can be a really useful source of resources, sometimes from members of the forum, and sometimes just from threads. You can find custom-made PSP Themes on these dedicated forums.

Download A Free PSP Theme Tip 3- Don’t use a download!
You can try using one of the simple art programs on your computer to design your own original Theme. Virtually any of the simple art programs will allow you to produce a simple wallpaper, and this should be compatible with your PSP as long as you create it as a JPEG file. Another possibility is to get someone who is good with art to actually design a theme for you. You can find a PSP forum which has some decent Themes, and ask whoever designed the themes you like the best if they will create one for you. Often they will be happy to do it, although they may charge you a little for doing the job.

You can do a lot more with downloading free PSP Themes than just following everybody else with EA games wallpapers etc from the official Sony site. Be original, and you will enjoy your PSP more!

Worst EURO defeat..!!!

Posted by wanjModernist | 5:14 PM | , ,

June 9th 2:30pm US/Eastern Time (8:30pm Central European Time)

Stade de Suisse Wankdorf, Berne- Group C

Result: Netherlands 3 - Italy 0

The Netherlands ended a 30-year wait for a victory over Italy in emphatic fashion as they began their Group C campaign with a rousing 3-0 win against the world champions in Berne.

Ruud van Nistelrooy side-footed the Oranje ahead in the 26th minute, a lead doubled superbly by his Real Madrid CF colleague Wesley Sneijder soon after. Edwin van der Sar, becoming only the third player to appear in four UEFA European Championships.

With coaches Marco van Basten and Roberto Donadoni schooled under Arrigo Sacchi at AC Milan an attacking treat was always in store. And so it proved, Antonio Di Natale narrowly failing to free Luca Toni in only the second minute. The FC Bayern München striker did get a glimpse of goal in the 12th minute, rising to flick a header wide from an equally promising position, yet from then on the Dutch dominated the half

The Netherlands can now look forward with confidence to Friday's meeting with France, while Italy must recover from a worst-ever EURO defeat when they face Romania.

Letzigrund Stadion, Zurich- Group C

Romania made a promising start to their EURO 2008™ campaign, holding one of the tournament favourites, France, to a goalless draw at the Letzigrund Stadion in Group C.

France could not break down the stubborn Romanian defence and have suffered the first setback of the tournament dropping two points to a solid Romanian side. Many expect this group to be have a tight qualification with and possibly having it decided by goal differential.
